Taking A Break

E-mail

Once again there's no pubcast this week. This week it's a bit more of conscious decision rather than illness. Over the last year we've knocked one out nearly every week and while we've learnt a lot about what it takes to make a pubcast and we've had a good response from the listeners we've got, we've never really managed what we set out to do. Dave's change in the format was an attempt to spice things up a bit, but he didn't realise how much work goes into post-production.

What I'm trying to say is we're going to take a break from the pubcast while we figure out some stuff behind the scenes and there's a lot going on in our lives over the next month or two that would probably have meant the pubcast would have skipped a week every now and again anyway. Hopefully we'll do the odd one here and there, just to keep our toes wet, and in a few months we'll be back to try this again. See you then.

Joined by our special guest,
or rather return of an old member, Andrew Smith. Rather unsprisingly we go straight into Dead Island and some Walking Dead as well as other Telltale announcements.

Also featuring this week's Activision Dick Move

Back to the old style podcast as no Dave this week to follow it up. We go through the debuting trailers from the Superbowl before tackling Activision's decision to axe Guitar Hero. We're back to movies as it comes clear that Downie may be looking forward to a Margaret Thatcher film a little too much and the MGM Sony deal is discussed. James gets it really wrong as it's the funding that 50% not the revenue. We get onto the craziness that is Charlie Sheen, and James gives his thoughts on the first week of his challenge.

For our 50th pubcast we get our geek extremely on as we look at roleplaying games. This is what happens when you leave James, Dave and Edmund on their own. They also manage to get onto the horrible subject of when geeks try and figure out who would win before some semblance of normality comes back and they discuss Tron again. We move onto CGI cartoons briefly. James also weighs in on Astounding Wolf-Man which bizarrely lewads to talk of the Old Ones.
