So, I've moved home. One of the biggest decisions of my life, bizarrely made when I was half-cut in the middle of a park. I could go on about the repercussions its going to have on me, but lets not bore anyone here. Two things are important to this article.
1. It means I'm going to start writing my blog again so yes there is a blog, which is why this article exists.
2. This is going to have serious affect on my comic collecting.
As I started working out the minor details of my four hundred mile move, one of the things to take into account was how was I going to get hold of my comics. Now this decision was made months ago and with each trip to the comic shop I often wondered what would be kept and what would I start weening myself off straight away.
The list was pretty apparent straight away, I'd whitled the number down quite a bit when I started this whole “going indie” idea back in June last year. Robinson's JLA was finally getting a good head of steam so I was gonna kick about for that. Red Robin was fantastic under my old favourite Fabian Nicieza, and Gail Simone's Birds of Prey was as good as it was before the hiatus. Then there was Batman Beyond, a series I'll own up to buying simply because it carried on from the amazing series and that episode of JLU that was meant to wrap everything up was one of my all time favourites from the entire Animated DC universe and likely the only fatality DC felt due to the move.
From Marvel there was X-Factor with Peter David's run already at over a hundred issues and still a joy to read. The Young Avengers mini series Children's Crusade should finish off shortly after the move so that would be part of the struggle. Uncanny X-Men on the other hand was already dropped as my interest had waned. When Matt Fraction left I saw it as the perfect moment to take my leave too.
Artefacts and Darkness were two series from Top Cow I'd picked up when I tried to move away from Marvel and DC. The both were questionable choices in the long run, Phil Hester on Darkness was good, but Estacado has just become far too used to his powers for anything to be a real credible threat these days. I'd dropped Darkness once but the comic book shop owner had ordered more in, so I was reading till the end of the current story. Meanwhile, lateness and my dislike of Whilce Portacio's art had really put me off Artefacts. With it just being a limited series though I was kicking around to the end. While my usual disdain for not finishing a story would annoy me, if finding a new store became too much of a hassle loosing the two titles wouldn't.
Also there's the limited series of Who is Jake Ellis? Which would make it onto any list anyway as it is brilliant, but as it was scheduled to finished just before I leave it wouldn't be a problem. Well that was the theory, of course it was delayed and I've now moved 400 miles from the shop where my copy is being delivered to.
However, as time grew closer, a lot of decisions were taken out my hands. DC cancelled their entire universe and decided to start from the beginning. Well that made things easier, bar Darkness and X-Factor, the others were all limited series. As for DC, I think I'm switching to totally digital as I'm interested in Grifter (as it's written by Nathan Edmondson of Who is Jake Ellis?) and Red Hood and the Outlaws. Also I've got to pick up the new Nightwing.
Honestly, in the closing weeks in my time in Dundee the question became how am I going to get hold of X-Factor before I leave. It has constantly been a source of enjoyment and always going to the bottom of my reading pile (I subscribe to the “save the best for last” way of thinking). As I write this Marvel have been announcing the new line ups of the post-Schism X-Teams, and seeing Havok as a member has me torn. He is my most preferred Summers brother, and PAD has history of writing him in his acclaimed original X-Factor run in the 90s. I can't help feeling that the character doesn't quite fit with the style of the current series. I intend to find out though. Anyone know where the nearest comic shop to Scunthorpe is?

me modify the cost-free article I came across online child abuse, a growing problem. essay. That paper satisfies my personal requirements yet is authored in an awful style and there are sentence structure flaws. Do you consider I ought to proceed? I am just eager for support, and so any idea can be terrific.
